Production Quality Software
Galazar's device management software goes far beyond the demos, scripts or basic device drivers. Galazar's software incorporates all of the carrier-class functions required to provision and manage complex ASSPs, such as interrupt handling, warm restart, performance monitoring, protection switching, and resource management.
This high level of functionality allows our customers to design
with our solutions using only our software API without having to
spend time understanding the registers controlling the device. In order to provide production quality software, we supply our customers with regular releases of our device management software to address new feature requests and to resolve problems with complete regression testing using our reference platforms. A highly modular structure allows you to focus solely on the features required for your application.
Galazar's software offerings support a wide variety of processors, from 8-bit micro-processors with 64 K of RAM, to the most advanced processors. Similarly, independent of the operating system or software infrastructure chosen, Galazar's software can meet the requirements.
Galazar also supplies software to manage a number of complementary devices which have been proven to work successfully with our devices.
Fully Functional Reference Platforms
The reference platform is used to verify our ASSP, hardware, and software together as a network element. The software tested on the reference platform runs on a Telecom industry standard Real Time Operating System. Our ASSP and surrounding complimentary silicon (e.g. PHYs, timing chips) are controlled via a typical command line interface. This testing in a real-world environment allows Galazar to offer production quality software and ASSPs.
Documentation
A good solution is an easy to use solution. Each element of a solution needs to be accompanied by high quality documentation developed with ease of use in mind. The software is complimented with a software user guide and hyperlinked reference manual. Extensive documentation of the software and its interfaces, often more extensive than the ASSP documentation, is essential for easy integration into customer software. The reference platform documentation includes user guides, schematics, and layout files. These are provided to help reduce board development time, including component selection, interface design and PCB layout. The ASSP documentation consists of: a datasheet with functional description; pin and interface details; an excel spreadsheet version of the pinout for easy component creation; application notes; and register descriptions.
