The Galazar product suite includes highly integrated, low power framer and mapper semiconductor devices for a wide variety of datacom and telecom interfaces. Galazar's solutions are ideal for CPE/CLE products and highly flexible line card applications. Galazar products enable carriers to drive down the cost of offering traditional access services while enabling new Ethernet, SAN and packet services, all without changes to the existing network infrastructure. Galazar's framers and mappers are designed into communications equipment products that are deployed by leading RBOCs, carriers, and service providers in Asia, Europe, and North America.
Our applications include High Order and Low Order SONET/SDH linear networks, ring networks and packet-based access networks, such as RPR. The Galazar product line supports SONET/SDH, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, DS3, E3, DS1, E1, Fiber Channel, FICON, ESCON, GFP, LAPS, PPP, Virtual Concatenation (VC) of both High Order and Low Order paths and the Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS).
Ultra Low Power - Miniaturized Ethernet Access over SONET/SDH and PDH Networks
PicoNode and PicoNodePDH are ultra low power miniaturized framer/mapper solutions that enable delivery of Ethernet transport services to small and medium enterprises, cellular base stations, and Wi-FI/WiMax hubs over the widely deployed PDH and SONET/SDH network. These tiny devices enable the OEM to offer solutions to carriers with a dramatically smaller form factor and power consumption, reducing both opex and capex.
PDH Access Network Solutions
CopperNode, CopperNodeL and CopperNodeHE are optimized to enable delivery of Ethernet transport services to small and medium enterprises, cellular base stations, and Wi-FI/WiMax hubs over the widely deployed PDH network. CopperNode combines Galazar's field proven Ethernet, GFP, VCAT and LCAS technologies along with M13 PDH multiplexing to provide a complete solution for remote equipment designed to provide Ethernet transport services. CopperNodeHE contains the same technology in higher density and is the complementary solution for Ethernet over PDH (EoPDH) termination in the Head End or Central Office.
Multi-Protocol Infrastructure Solutions
VersaNode and RadioNode integrate all of the features required to simplify the development and support the evolution of next-generation multi-service and multi-protocol infrastructure solutions. The product family supports the transport of PDH and data client signals such as DS1/E1, DS3/E3 and 10/100/1000 Ethernet over linear and ring based SONET/SDH access networks. VersaNode extends MSPP feature support to include client data grooming and aggregation as well as packet based transport networks (RPR) via an integrated packet co-processor port (SPI-3). RadioNode implements the features and meets the environmental tolerances necessary for 155 Mbps radio transmission and cellular backhaul applications.
Multi-Service PDH + Ethernet over SONET/SDH (EoS, PDH) Framers
Our SONET/SDH framers are the world's first devices to simultaneously support mixed High Order (STS/VC paths) and Low Order (VT/VC paths) Virtual Concatenation (VC) with Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS).
The SONET/SDH Multi-Service Framer (MSF) products, which include the MSF2500, MSF250, and MSF15, are the first complete system-on-a-chip (SoC) framers to offer the comprehensive integration of legacy telecom and Ethernet data transport services. A single MSF device offers multiple voice, leased line and data service interfaces such as 10/100 Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, SPI-3, DS1/E1, and DS3/E3 simultaneously mapped into protected SONET/SDH lines.
Data Service : Ethernet over SONET/SDH Framers (EoS)
The DSF2500, DSF250, and DSF15 Data Service Framer (DSF) devices are data-optimized SONET/SDH framers offering cost effective mapping of data service interfaces, such as 10/100 Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, into SONET/SDH lines. The DSF250 and DSF2500 additionally support mapping of channels from a SPI-3 data interface into protected SONET/SDH lines.
DS1/E1, DS3/E3 Service : PDH over SONET/SDH Framers
The PSF15™ is a highly integrated PDH Framer capable of mapping Telecom traffic into protected OC-3/STM-1 SONET/SDH transport payloads. The PSF15 is equipped with multiple voice and leased line interfaces - such as DS1/E1 and DS3/E3.
Service Port Expansion Mappers
The MDX251 and MDX250 devices provide efficient solutions for channelized transport of SAN protocols and Ethernet into SPI-3 packet flows. The MDX251 provides multi-channel GFP-T mapping of Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, FICON and ESCON data streams while the MDX250 provides multi-channel mapping of 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet. When coupled with a next generation SONET/SDH framer, such as the Galazar MSF2500, MSF250, DSF2500, or DSF250, devices or VersaNode, these devices provide complete multi-port SAN and Ethernet transport solutions.

Galazar offers hardware reference designs, device management software, software for provisioning, performance monitoring, protection switching and fault management comprehensive documentation and highly responsive support to reduce time to market, increase product quality and reduce development execution risks in order assure customer success. An Accelerated Customer Success (ACS) program is also available that can be customized to include a development platform pre-loaded with networking application software, licensing for networking application software, and dedicated, on-site support to reduce development cycle times.
