OTTAWA, Canada - February 17, 2004 - Galazar Networks™ Inc., a leading fabless semiconductor company with advanced, next generation SONET/SDH framers, today announced immediate availability of the DSF15 ™, an Ethernet over SONET/SDH Framer for OC-3/STM-1 applications.

The DSF15 joins Galazar's existing product family of next generation SONET/SDH framers for Ethernet over SONET/SDH (EoS). Galazar's MSF and DSF products are the world's first devices to simultaneously support mixed High Order (STS/VC paths) and Low Order (VT/VC paths) Virtual Concatenation (VC) with Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS).

The DSF15's target applications include Ethernet aggregation and transport equipment. The DSF15 is a highly integrated single-chip 155 Mbps Data Service Framer for Ethernet over SONET/SDH. It is equipped with 10/100 Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet client interfaces.

Ethernet over SONET/SDH (EoS) is supported through Virtual Concatenation (VC) with Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS), with simultaneous use of mixed High Order (STS/VC) and Low Order (VT/VC) paths. This maximizes carriers' service offerings and therefore increases their revenues from the existing access infrastructure.

The DSF15 supports 8 VC groups, of both High Order (STS/VC) and Low Order (VT/VC) paths. It accomplishes standardized Ethernet mapping (GFP/X.86/HDLC) with Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS) support. Differential delay compensation of up to 250ms is supported between VCG members.
