Galazar's VersaNode Named AnalogZONE Product of the Year

Analog Zone Product of the year

VersaNode Recognized as Best Internetworking Product for Next Generation SONET/SDH Applications

OTTAWA, Canada - January 12, 2005 - Galazar Networks® Inc, announced today that its VersaNode™ product was named Product of the Year by AnalogZONE in the Best Internetworking Product category.

Galazar's VersaNode product is a 155/622Mbps versatile Multi-Service networking solution for transporting Ethernet and PDH services over point-to-point SONET/SDH networks, RPR and UPSR rings.

Product of the Year award winners were selected from those reviewed throughout the year by analogZONE editor-in-chief Paul McGoldrick and section editor Lee Goldberg, with specific emphasis on the product's performance, anticipated market success, and likely contribution to the field of analog engineering and product design.

AnalogZONE praised "This monster chip bristles with subscriber-side interfaces for most common communication protocols (other than Token Ring and Teletype) and allows designers to support multiple Ethernet and PDH services over point-to-point networks, SONET, RPR and UPSR rings".

AnalogZONE added "You can easily perform classification and separation of traffic into different VC groups with different priorities before the traffic hits the WAN. External processing will also enable a single EoS connection to simultaneously support VoIP and data traffic. Broadband service providers will also appreciate the ability to do stat-muxed traffic aggregation for efficient, transparent over subscription."

"With VersaNode, our goal was to extend our carrier grade transport semiconductor product line to support advanced network architectures, protocols and feature rich packet processing services," said Richard DeBoer, CEO of Galazar Networks. "Receiving the AnalogZONE Product of the Year award is further proof that Galazar's vision and ability to execute are raising the standard for next generation SONET/SDH applications."
